Is Nia's Chance Coming?
For sometime now, mostly the last few months, I find myself scratching my head at what WWE is doing with Nia Jax. I know that everything has a plan and eventually it will all pan out for her (I'd assume by WrestleMania 34). My biggest grip with how WWE books her is her nickname: The Irresistible Force.
So she's "irresistible?" Don't get me wrong, I honestly think Nia is gorgeous. I'm not a big fan of how everyone is attacking her weight. Tell the poor girl something she doesn't already know. I'm 100% sure she knows she's bigger than any other girl on the roster. It's almost like when I was bullied for my weight, really? I get it guys, tell me something I don't know. But for most guys I would say we already know she's irresistible. The whole "force" thing kind of bothers me too. I feel like WWE is playing on her weight, which "Be A Star" and all that jazz. I know it's probably due to her strength and how she has dominated some of her counterparts.
I feel like Nia will get a Women's title run here in the near future. Would only make sense to see her battle Alexa Bliss (to which all signs point that way) at WrestleMania. Proper booking would start her domination at the Mania. In my own personal opinion, her dominance should have started with beating Asuka. I know many wouldn't agree with
that, but I'm tired of hearing about Asuka's undefeated streak. There's no other way of making Nia a force to be wrecking with than having her take out Asuka. But that ship has sailed as Asuka is now moving onto Charlotte and Smackdown Live.
Nia definitely needs a boost in the W/L column as well. As of writing this, according to CageMatch: Internet Wrestling Database she is a whopping 2-20 on the year. For those who are not good at math out there that gives her a losing percentage of 90% . This is not good at all especially how the word force is portrayed in her name. If you clicked the link you'll notice in her short career thus far she has only had one winning year, 26-20 in 2015.
I truly believe these statistics have to be on the up and up soon. I believe she has gotten better in the ring since being called up the main roster. But she is definitely due for a title run. Hopefully when she beats Bliss at Mania she'll have a nice lengthy reign and eventually maybe she'll cross paths with Asuka again.
