There's More to Professional Wrestling Than The WWE

When you read a lot of my shit, I am overly critical of the product that WWE puts out on a weekly basis. I love wrestling, hell I love WWE wrestling, they give us so much programming on a weekly basis, and for a wrestling fan, that is tremendous. The problem I have with WWE is that they have so much talent, so much that they don't know what to do with it or how to properly utilize it. That is why I am so engrossed with so many other independent promotions. They do more with less talent and put on more entertaining shows that don't seem to drag on.

Other promotions, such as New Japan, CZW, Ring of Honor, Progress, and on and on, I could list all day, they have a ton of talent, but they also do everything that they can to get that talent on television and put them in something relevant. When was the last time you saw Mike Bennett, Tye Dillinger, hell even Rusev used properly? True stars know how to get over, Mike Bennett is one of the best wrestlers in the company, and used horribly. Japan used Juice Robinson well, he proved himself, got himself over, and is now one of the hottest rising stars in the world. Same with Kenny Omega and Sami Callahan. Both were part of the WWE machine, WWE didn't know how to use them, now they are hotter than ever.

I focus on rival WWE promotions because they focus on wrestling with storylines being second for the most part. Impact wrestling has gotten a lot better since Don Callis has become an integral part of the team, it didn't happen by accident, he has spent a ton of time understanding how New Japan works and has helped Impact adapt. Vince has stood flat footed while other companies adapt to be major players in the wrestling world. The Young Bucks and Cody are about to sell out a 10,000 seat arena. Why? Because they know what wrestling fans want, we want quality in ring wrestling, and they can attach a strong fun story to their matches. Wrestling is fun, and its beautiful, and if done properly, its art. Other companies are pushing wrestlers that organically get themselves over, WWE pushes WWE guys.

This isn't a long article, but all I have to say is watch as many other promotions as you can. I subscribe to highspots. You can catch CZW, WXW, PWG, AAW, REVPRO, and so much more. I subscribe to New Japan World. They focus on wrestling, and there is so much good wrestling out there, if we all speak up, maybe but unlikely WWE will look at evolving their product as well.

Thanks for reading! Let me know your thoughts.
