On October 28th, WWE makes history as they have their 1st ever ALL Women’s PPV. With 50 women from the past present and future, it is set to be a historical event packed with some of the best talents. Take this ride with me as I review two matches, one from Raw and one from Smackdown.
As we are getting closer to Evolution and with some changes already made, this event is beginning to look like it will be a solid show. There are many rumors of who will be there, who will be in action and with luck, we could be witnessing matches that could go as long as 20 minutes. What a great time to be a female wrestling fan so let’s dive right into it, shall we?
What were two singles matches became a tag match! Ever since her title loss to Ronda Rousey, Alexa Bliss has been out of the title picture and it’s evident as to why it had to happen (oh Nikki Bella). Lately, we’ve been catching Bliss more in the tag team scene with another all-time great Mickie James and these two women have been dominant in the ring and delivering their promos. With the history that Mickie and Trish has, there’s no doubt in my mind that when those two get in the ring, it will be magical. Lita and Mickie also had some history together.
Fun Wrestling Fact: Survivor Series November 2006, for the WWE Women’s Championship Lita (c) vs. Mickie James. It was Lita’s last match that was repeated by commentators Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler throughout the entire match. At the end of this back and forth match, Mickie James came out victorious and became the New WWE Women’s Champion. Although Mickie won the match for the title, the scorecard between these two for the seven matches they had in WWE Lita: 5 Mickie James: 2
Nonetheless, Lita’s return during the first ever All Women's Royal Rumble has shown that her extreme high flying moves never left. She is making it known that she’s not afraid of committing to her moonsault even after her neck surgery. Rest assured, we will be seeing her signature maneuver, but the question is, who will be the end receiving this move?
The battle of the former besties, who is the absolute best and for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Let’s face facts, Becky’s heel turn is fantastic for her character hence why it makes it hard not to enjoy this side of her. The fans are clearly behind Becky and her wicked ways; however, when it comes down to the actual face of this feud, Charlotte is getting all the heat.
It’s clear that the WWE wants to push Becky Lynch as the heel, but the WWE fails to understand one thing. When you have a comeback story that suddenly turned into a betrayal story, it shifts the crowd. We the fans feel as though we can relate in some fashion. The outcome that the WWE was looking for is that the fans were to turn on Becky but come-on. Reality is, everyone has been at one point, if not multiple times in life, betrayed by a close friend and all you want to do is beat the shit out of them.
Becky did just that, and for the fans who can relate, we cheered! We know how it feels to be in that position, which is why the fans will continue to go against Charlotte. The story of being betrayed by her best friend is one of the most excellent stories of all times, especially for the Women’s division. This battle will be one of the most anticipated matches of the evening. It's crazy to think that we almost had this type of feud with Sasha Banks and Bayley but we all know how that ended.
There's much more to cover, and I will try my best to get these post out before Evolution. Stay tuned as the next article will be the continuation of this post with the match review of the Raw Women's Championship Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella and the NXT Women's Championship Kairi Sane (c) vs. Shayna Baszler. Please like, comment and let me know your thoughts! Until then, ring the bell ref, this post is over.
