On October 28th, WWE makes history as they have their 1st ever ALL Women’s PPV. With 50 women from the past present and future, it is set to be a historical event packed with some of the best talents. Take this ride with me as I review the match card and potential matches that have yet to be announced.

As stated before, this is going to be a continuation from the previous article that I started. If you are reading this prior to reading anything else that I wrote about WWE Evolution, do yourself the favor, check out the links below and read your little wrestling hearts out. We are getting closer to Evolution and the card is looking solid for the most part. Today we will discuss the Mae Young Classic II Finals, the Six Women Tag-Team Match and The Battle Royal.
As predicted from my first Evolution article “Who Runs The World, Girls”; the final match for the Mae Young Classic Finals will indeed take place at Evolution. Toni Storm will go one on one with Io Shirai; this will indeed be an incredible match to witness. It’s not the first time these two have squared up in the ring, but we will get into that later. Let’s break down the bracket to see how these two women made it to the finals but before I do let's give props where props are due.
A round of applause goes to ALL the women who competed in the Mae Young Classic 2018. All the matches were fantastic to watch and one that was hard to watch. We were able to sign a few women from this and we the fans thank you WWE for actually listening to your audience. Let's take a look at the MYC brackets and see how far Toni Storm and Io Shirai have come.
In my opinion, the best matches thus far for both these ladies during the tournament were their quarter-final matches. Io Shirai vs. Rhea Ripley was one of Shirai toughest match. Toni Storm had the honor of defeating the Japanese legend Meiko Satomura, and wow that was her best match overall in WWE.
As mention before, these two has a history together. For those who only live under the WWE rock (no pun intended), these women have faced each other back in 2016 during the Stardom Europe tour. Stardom was launching a new title, the Stardom World Alliance (SWA) Undisputed World Women’s Championship where both females made it to the finals. In the end, Io Shirai would emerge as the inaugural SWA Champion. However, the battle didn't end there.
Three months later, Toni Storm had her rematch at Stardom X: Osaka Summer Solstice Celebration in July. It was then, Toni Storm defeated Io Shirai to claim gold in Japan assuredly.
Now we have fast forward to the Mae Young Classic II to even the scoreboard. Both women have a 1-1 win against each other, and it's time to see which one will come out victorious. Both poured their heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into this tournament. It is why they are both our finalist for this fantastic event. This contest is going to be one of my matches of the night.
“Boss and Hug Connection” Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Natalya vs. “The Riott Squad” Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, and Sarah Logan. The six-woman tag match that nobody wants to see. This contest was put together at the last min. There’s no real story here and let’s call a spade a spade; this match is exactly what it is, it's a filler. It is a short story to tell, but the WWE wants to exhibit the triple tag team dynamic that is The Riott Squad.
Fun Wrestling Fact: The Riott Squad debuted on Smackdown on November 21st, 2017. The day after Paige returned on Raw after being more than a year away from the company, introduced Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville as her associates called Absolution. The Riott Squad debuting the next day made a lot of fans feel like they were watching a rerun of Raw, and that this team was nothing more than a poor replica of Absolution. After Paige's leave due to a neck injury, Absolution was no more, and The Riott Squad is no longer getting overlooked. Within months they became the most active female team on the Raw roster.
Now for the last few months, Sasha Banks has been off TV due to concussion-related head pain. Just recently she went on Maria Menounos podcast and said “I was having head pain. I couldn’t function. I couldn’t even drive. I couldn’t sleep, and I’m like I need to get checked out, and it went to several neurologists, and they pretty much told me I had like post-concussion symptoms, so just rest, rest, rest and you know it became kind of scary, and it was like am I even going to make Evolution?”. As we all know, the WWE has had their few battles against former older wrestlers that have sued the company due to concussion-related head pain. I’m sure they weren’t taking any chances with The Boss and her health. During her time off, Bayley wasn’t getting much TV time, and later on, the WWE had The Hugger teaming up with Finn Balor for the Mix Tag Team Match-Ups. Besides that, Bayley has no steam or push. She’s been bullied by The Riott Squad, and it makes her look weak since she rarely fights back. I mean it is three versus one, so it makes sense why she won’t fight by herself, but come-on Bayley get a weapon or something! As for Natalya, we will never know if the match would have been different if she would have stayed with Ronda Rousey. I truly believe that instead of Nikki Bella fighting the champ, it would have been Natalya, but due to the unfortunate passing of her father, her time wasn’t right. It would have been a great story to tell and also a more realistic opponent for Ronda Rousey. Instead, Nattie gets thrown into this feud at the last minute, and now we are all stuck with a match that no one cares and it has nothing to do with who is in the match, it has to deal with the fact that there was no real story built. I am glad to see what Sasha has to bring since her time off. Ruby Riott and Banks will make some magic in the ring. As The Riott Squad continue to entertain me, I feel as though they will take the win in this contest.
The Battle Royal so far has 21 women from Then, Now and Forever. This shit of a contest is a bit underwhelming. The WWE had enough time to build stories instead of putting everyone in a battle royal. Also, why can’t the women compete twice? I would have loved to see Tamina vs. Nia Jax in a single match at Evolution and no matter who the winner was, have them both continued the fight at the battle royal. Begin the story and the rivalry from there. Maybe we can get something to start during the Battle Royal.
Let's review the women that will be battling for the chance for a future women's championship match. We have Alicia Fox, Alundra Blayze, Asuka, Billie Kay, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Ember Moon, Ivory, Kelly Kelly, Lana, Mandy Rose, Maria Kanellis, Michelle McCool, Molly Holly, Naomi, Nia Jax, Peyton Royce, Sonya Deville, Tamina Snuka, and Torrie Wilson. Now from my knowledge, all battle royal has typically 30 participants. We still have nine slots open which mean we will see some NXT superstars that are being kept under wraps.
Here are my predictions of who will fill those spots up. Bianca Belair, Nikki Cross, Candice LeRae, Meiko Satomura, Lacey Evans, Vanessa Borne, Rhea Ripley, and Taynara Conti. There is one more slot open, not sure for whom but it will be interesting to see. One can dream that AJ Lee would come back for one night only, but we all know, that shit is not going to happen. Not with all the massive tension between her husband CM Punk and the WWE.
Although the majority of the fans and women from both Raw and Smackdown are not thrilled to be thrown into a random ass Battle Royal, me as the fan is interested to see who the winner will turn out to be. This Battle Royal will be the WWE's third event this year for the women division; I'm hoping that each woman somehow gets their spot during the match and I thank all the Female Wrestling Gods up there, THANK YOU for not giving out a trophy that looks like a woman’s ovaries.
